For jobs that require tactful verbal interaction, A & K Security pre-screens officers for suitable personality and successful experience dealing with the public. All officers must successfully complete the company’s customer-service training program prior to assignment.  If a candidate does not demonstrate his/her capability to successfully interact with people, he/she will not be hired.  Topics covered by the A & K Security customer relations program are presented below.

Show Respect for the Individual

• Identify yourself by name and title

• Hold doors open for people who follow you and for people who require assistance

•Ask your co-worker if it is a good time to address your need

• Limit the use of speakerphones. When appropriate or necessary to use a speakerphone, identify everyone who can hear the conversation. Honor requests to be taken off a speakerphone.

Standard training begins in the classroom at in the San Jose office.  Employees attend lectures by qualified personnel, watch VHS training tapes to magnify certain points, and participate in classroom discussions. Training material is routinely updated to provide personnel with the latest security information.  Standard training includes:
